Charles Dunn

October 20, 1941 — February 1, 2015

Charles Allen Dunn, age 73, passed away at home in Schertz, Texas on February 1, 2015 after battling a long illness. He was born on October 20, 1941 in Elkhart, Kansas. Charles attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Agriculture. He continued his education at North Carolina State University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in May of 1973. Charles held agricultural research positions with Texas A&M University, Oklahoma State University and the University of California. He then retired from Color Spot Nurseries in 2008 after 12 years with the company. He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Verna Dunn; sisters, Delva and Kay. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of 31 years; children, David Dunn with wife Dana of Edmond, Oklahoma, Michelle Hauer with husband Thom of Phoenix, Arizona, Chris Dunn with wife Jolynn of Aledo, Texas, and Chad Bartels with wife Alex of Pipe Creek, Texas; adored grandchildren, Alyssa Beckmann with husband Corey, Nick Nesselrode, Holly Nesselrode, Hannah Gonzales, Maveric Dunn, Fletcher Dunn, Mason Bartels; and one great grandchild. It hurts to think that you are not here anymore but we can't help but smile with tears in our eyes to think of how we cherished each and every moment of our lives together. We miss you!
