Charles Dittman

Major (Retired) Charles Morgan Dittman Sr, 74, of Selma, Texas joined his beloved wife of 43 years, the late Debra Susan Dittman on March 17, 2020. He was born on November 23, 1945 in Hopewell, Virginia to the late Adolph “Charles” Edward Dittman and the late Mary Ellen Clark Dittman. He is survived by his six children- Christopher Cunningham and wife Rachel; Charlene Baldwin and husband, Mark; Charles Morgan Dittman Jr; Robert Dittman and wife, Kristiana; Sean Dittman and wife, Amanda; and Kevin Dittman and wife, Alysia; Grandchildren- Michael Shane and Chelsea Baldwin; Meghan, Tristan, and Abigail Dittman; Caiden, Jaiven, Lucian, and Taitlyn Dittman; Christabelle, Honor, and Connor Dittman; and Great-grandchildren- Callan Baldwin, Olyvia Mercado, Kristaphor Dittman, Ashtin and Kingstin Dunnington. He had an immense love and admiration for his family and would tell anyone who would listen of their continued accomplishments.
Major Dittman was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He had dedicated his entire life to the armed forces and served over 31 years honorably on active duty in numerous conflicts and wars, to include Vietnam, Libya, Panama, and Desert Shield/ Desert Storm; where in which the later- he had respectfully earned the Bronze Star with V device for “Valor.” In younger years, he was highly involved in the Boy Scouts of America, with his boys by his side and not a weekend went by without him working in the yard or tending to his cherished tomato plants. Major Dittman will be fondly remembered as a military man, a family man, and for his continued admiration for the San Antonio Spurs and cherished coin collection. He will be earnestly missed, but his legacy will continue on through his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Major (Retired) Charles Morgan Dittman Sr will be held at Schertz funeral home on Saturday, May 9, 2020. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm and services to follow at 3:00pm.
