Catherine Castillo

Catherine K. Castillo, age 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at University Hospital in San Antonio. She was born on December 15, 1954 in Wharton, TX to Otto and Aurelia (Dietz) Krueger. Cathy graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 1973 and then pursued a life-long career with Frost Bank. She worked many positions within the bank and most recently was an Assistant Vice President. Cathy and her husband Mario married in 1993. Cathy was very close to her parents and sisters and was loved by her husband's family as well. Cathy's genuine and caring attitude for others showed through in all her interactions with family and friends. She had a deep affection for children and spent much of her time with nieces, nephews and her friends' children. Cathy is preceded in death by her beloved son, Joshua Andrew Grunewald, and her sister, Wendie Ann Krueger. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Mario Castillo; parents Otto and Aurelia Krueger; as well as 3 sisters, 6 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Shepherd King Lutheran Church, 303 W. Ramsey Rd., San Antonio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
