Carolina loved playing basketball. She lettered three years as a Premont High School Texas Cowgirl back in the 1950’s and earned a Letter Sweater, and 2 Letterman Jackets. Carolina was the rock of the family, picking up the torch when her husband was deployed while in the United States Marine Corps. The most arduous time was when he was sent to Da Nang, Vietnam. She raised seven children, making sure all of their sacraments were completed in the church. The constant engagement with schools, teachers, scouts, and afterwards cooking a large meal and making sure everyone was bathed with homework done was no easy feat. She was active with the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW and in the Catholic church as a CCD teacher, choir member, and RCIA. She was the first Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in the Laredo Texas Family Court system. She was so excited to work with children and represent their best interests. She was a graduate of Trinity University, Maryland Campus with a degree in Theology. Rest in peace Sweet Caroline.
