Carol Ann Owens Grose
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend returned to her heavenly father on October 2, 2024 at the age of 78. Carol was born in Staten Island, New York; daughter of Frederick and Grace Owens. She was the 2nd of 11 siblings. At the age of three her family moved to Ohio where she attended school at Carol Township and Oak Harbor High School. Carol met her best friend and love of her life Bob Grose in 1977 while working as a waitress in Fairbanks Alaska.
Bob and Carol were married on October 17, 1978 and started their life in a two-room cabin near McKinley Park, AK. There they were blessed with their daughter Heidi. Together they started McKinley Raft Tours on the Nenana River. They ran the business together for 30 years. Carol touched many lives on the paths she traveled. She loved kids, crocheting, traveling, and her diet coke. But her favorite thing was being a grandma to Dillon, Gabby and Brooke . Carol was very active in her LDS church, serving in many callings with her favorite being a primary teacher. She will always be remembered for her crocheting and never forgetting to send a birthday card. Carol is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Heidi, son-in-law Carlos Benitez, grandchildren Dillon, Gabby and Brooke, her siblings Bill Wyrick, Fred Owens, Pat McManus, Bobby Owens, Johnny Owens, Rodney Owens, Penny Ballard and Candy Zunk. Carol was proceeded in death by her sons Kenny Kuzeroski and Zachary Travis Grose, brother Lonny Bays and sister Joan Arquette.
