Carlysle Marbach

June 20, 1936 — February 8, 2018

Carlysle Marbach, 81, beloved husband, brother and father, was called to his eternal resting place on February 7, 2018. He entered this world on June 20, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas, born to Howard W. Marbach Sr. and Nelda (Kneupper) Marbach. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Vincent, brother Ronnie and brother-in-law John Dunivan. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Nita F. (Hughes) Marbach, brother Howard and wife Elaine, sister Mary Dunivan, children Wade Marbach, Byron Marbach and wife Bonnie, Jill (Marbach) Dore, Kenneth Clark and wife Loretta and Michael Clark and wife Cindy. Grandchildren Brandon Marbach and wife Natalie, Whitney Dore, Raegan Dore, Cullen Dore, Casie (Clark) Birnbrich and husband Andrew, Christopher Clark, Gabriella Clark and Kristin Clark, and great-grandson William Marbach.

Carlysle grew up in Converse, attending Central Catholic and St. Gerard's High School. In his younger days, he enjoyed country music, spending time with friends and family, and dancing. His career began with aircraft parts and ended with corporate jets. He and Nita lived 27 years in Spring and Kingwood, Texas before returning to San Antonio after his retirement in 1997.

Not too much later, Carlysle and Nita started their much-enjoyed cross-country adventures. They visited Washington State, South Dakota, California, Montana and Wyoming in their RV, and later visiting more Western States, Michigan, Canada, New Hampshire and South Carolina in their motor home.

Carlysle was a quiet, but strong man who rarely complained, was happy to watch his San Antonio Spurs and found fulfillment working hard to provide for his family. His presence will be missed in many ways.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:30am at Concordia Lutheran Church, San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrance offerings be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html) or Meals on Wheels San Antonio (https://www.mowsatx.org/meals-wheels).
