January 23, 1970 — January 16, 2013

Carlton Fred Kendall, also known as "Cool C" and "Dr. Reed Rich", died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the age of 42. He lived in Universal City, Texas. Carlton was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 23, 1970, and he was raised in a military family that was stationed in many places, including Missouri, Illinois, Ohio and the Philippines. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at Resurrection Baptist Church, where he served as a technical director in the multimedia ministry. He chose media and technology as his career path. He served in the United States Army for five years as a Multichannel Communications Systems Operator, and he earned the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon. Carlton attended Southwest Texas State University and, in July 2007, he graduated from Hallmark College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Network System Technology. He was on track to complete a B. S. in Business Administration by the end of 2013. He was employed for five years at GVTC Communications, where he won several sales contests and received numerous customer commendations throughout his tenure. He also worked as a Technical Support Lead for AT&T, a Technical Support Specialist for Earthlink, a Broadcast Maintenance Technician for KABB-TV in San Antonio, TX and a technician at Motorola and AMD. Throughout his life, Carlton had a true passion for music. He wrote, performed and produced hip-hop music. He founded Any Angle Records and Stratavision Entertainment, two music production companies. Most importantly, Carlton's true legacy includes the blessings of his wonderful children, the big heart and true faith in Christ that set the course of his life, his one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and the unconditional love that he lavished upon us all. Everybody received a big hug from Carlton! Left to mourn and remember him are his parents, Fred and Lizzie O. Kendall; his children, Carlton Fred Kendall II, Grant Levorgia Kendall, Chloe Amara Kendall, and Grace Olivia Kendall; two siblings and their spouses, Lowell Scott Kendall (Veronda) and Aimee Kendall Roundtree (Kirby); his nieces and nephew, Ashley Monique Kendall, Bria Nicole Kendall and Zachary Joseph Roundtree; his aunt, Gracie O. Douglas; his cousin, Anthony Childs; his ex-wife, Michelle Rendon Kendall; his close friends, Phil Hewitt, Tony Masteller, and Tre' Monroe; and countless other family members, friends, colleagues whose lives he influenced and touched in a way that showed his love for Christ. Few people in this world are privileged enough to have had such a beloved and loving father, son, brother, uncle, friend and co-worker. He will be very much missed, because he was very much loved.
