Carl Evans Kaup, born July 8, 1952 passed on his own terms, August 17, 2022. Carl was born in San Antonio, Texas and was later adopted by Carl and Laura (Whitney) Kaup, both have since passed. Together they raised Carl in Oklahoma.
Carl married Meta Lynn Evenson on November 19, 1981. They lived happily married for 41 years. In addition to his parents, Carl is predeceased by his sister Laura Lee (Kaup), she is survived by husband Richard “Dick” Siever and their two children.
Carl is survived by his loving and caring wife Meta and their Chihuahuas Jazmine and Nina. His sister Candi (Kaup) and her husband Stan Landon, sister-in-law Cherri (Evenson) and her husband Jerry Carr, brother-in-law Jack Evenson and his wife Christie, brother-in-law Lee Evenson and his wife Diana. Nieces and nephews: Brenda Duke, DeAnna Ford, Jack Evenson II, Michael Evenson, Valerie Morris, Beth Carr, Alyssa Watson, Tara Woder, Mandy Avery, Randy Siever, Chelsea Landon, Whitney Lewis and their respective spouses and children.
Carl graduated from high school and was only a few classes short of obtaining his bachelor’s degree. Carl dutifully joined the Army and served multiple tours in Vietnam.
For most of Carl’s life, he earned his living as an independent truck driver. But his love and passion was spending time with friends touring around on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Carl also loved spending time with Meta and their pups at the coast in Rockport, TX. The beach was his happy place.
Carl was a jokester and enjoyed making plays on words. One of his famous one-liners was:
Liver Alone. Cheese Mine.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 25, 2022 with a visitation for friends and family preceding at 1pm at Schertz Funeral Home 2217 FM3009, Schertz, TX 78154.
