Carl Carr

Carl J. Carr, of Live Oak, TX, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the age of 81. Carl was born October 22, 1934 in Bradley, Arkansas to John and Lillie Bell (née Lovelady) Carr. On July 15, 1969 he married Carol Boyce at Lackland Air Force Base in Chapel 3. Carl served in the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1975. Once retired from the Air Force, he became an independent business owner for 25 years in Universal City, Texas. He was an avid member of Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and served as a Live Oak City Councilman. Carl is survived by his wife Carol of 46 years, his son Ken Lunsford and wife Tammy, his daughter Beth Sotello and husband Chris, and his five grandchildren Rachael and Jamie Lunsford, Nathan, Nicolas, and Elizabeth Sotello as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The viewing for family and friends will be Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4:00PM to 8 PM at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009 Schertz, Texas 78154. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 10:00AM at Live Oak First Baptist Church, 11560 Toepperwein Road, Live Oak, Texas 78233. Pastor Donald Valenta will be officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
