Cameron Shea Rash, a vibrant soul with an infectious zest for life, tragically passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, following an accident. Born on October 15, 1991, in Houston, Texas, he brought joy and warmth to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Cameron was the beloved son of Marilyn and Billy Rash. From an early age, he demonstrated a love for family, friends, and adventure. He cherished his time spent at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Cypress, Texas, where he celebrated significant milestones in his faith.
A gifted athlete, Cameron played youth league sports, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball. With the Cobras (8U) baseball team, he experienced the thrill of competition and took 5th place at the USSSA World Series, where he made enduring memories with close childhood friends. As he transitioned into middle school, he continued to showcase his athletic talents on the football field while also expressing his creative side through participation in drama and theater productions.
Cameron graduated from Cypress Falls High School, not only was he a 4 year member of the baseball team but also a 4 year Wingman for the cheerleading squad and dedicated 2 years to the Future Farmers of America (FFA). He successfully raised lambs, a heifer, and a steer, demonstrating responsibility and passion for agriculture. His leadership capabilities shone through his involvement in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the National Honor Society, and his part-time jobs at Steak & Shake and Cypress Ace Hardware.
Continuing his journey of growth, Cameron earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Texas State University, where he became a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. One of his most adventurous endeavors was working on a pipeline in Australia’s outback during the summer after his freshman year, alongside his good friend, Jack Swanson.
After college, Cameron made his mark in the professional world, working in sales for Ace Fire Equipment / Pye Barker Fire & Safety. However, what truly ignited his spirit was the love for riding his Harley with the "Fellas", which allowed him to explore new places and form cherished connections. He relished attending events such as the Lonestar Rally in Galveston and Sturgis 2024, all while treating his beloved Street Glide with care and respect.
Cameron LOVED to travel by motorcycle, car, plane, and cruise ships. Every trip, whether a day, a weekend, a week, or a summer brought Cameron so much happiness – he lived for the adventure and longed to see and learn from everywhere he went and everyone he met.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted parents, Marilyn and Billy Rash; grandmother Iris Bernyce Allison; his sister, Chelsea Velasquez, and brother-in-law, Jason Velasquez; his niece, Hailey Velasquez, Aunts; Deanna Davidson, Randee Rothman, Susie McDaniel, and Rose Newman, Uncles; Scott Davidson, Danny Rash, and Keith Allison, Cousins; Allison Battles, Burl Battles, Sarah Davis, Savannah Allison, Shelby Guerrero, Jaik Davidson, Auden Davidson, Helena Davidson, Amelia Davidson, Charyse Allison, and Keith Meyer, Girlfriend, Ashley Bergemann-Echeverri. A rosary will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral mass at 1:30 PM. His cremated remains will be with his beloved parents. A reception will follow after the funeral service, allowing family and friends to gather in celebration of the beautiful life Cameron lived.
Cameron’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love and happiness his girlfriend, extended family, brotherhoods, work families, neighbors, and friends brought to him. His positive outlook on life, his willingness to go the extra mile (whether helping or donating), and his smile and laughter will be missed.
