Camella Derouen

September 20, 1935 — February 1, 2011

Camella M. "Nana" DeRouen, age 75, of Schertz, Tx., passed away on February 1, 2011 in New Braunfels, Tx. after a short battle with Lung Cancer. She is preceded in death by parents Espera and Cecilia Comeaux of Delcambre, La., children Patrick, Patricia and Wendell. She is survived by husband Joseph Harold DeRouen of Schertz, Tx., daughter Renee DeRouen of Fontana, Ca., son David DeRouen of Austin, Tx., brothers John Comeaux of Beaumont, Tx., and Enerst Comeaux of Delcambre, La., and sister Agatha Walker of New Iberia, La. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Thomas DeRouen of Las Vegas, Nv., Jonathan and Shaun Bradley of Fontana, Ca. Her favorite hobby was making rosaries for her church, Church of the Good Shepherd, local missionaries, family, and friends. She had painstakingly honed her rosary making skills into a fine art after a lot of praying. Viewing will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 8 from 5 to 9pm with the Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday, February 9 at 10am. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1130am.
