Major Brent M. Burklo (USAF) New Braunfels, Texas went home to be with the Lord on 10 July 2019. He was a loving son and brother and served his Nation for 10 years as an Air Force officer and pilot.
Brent was born in Bethesda, MD on 27 September 1986. He attended Liberty University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Military Aviation in 2008 as well as a Masters of Business Administration in 2013. Brent was commissioned as second lieutenant in 2009 through the Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program and selected to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Upon graduation in 2011, Brent was assigned to Ramstein AFB, Germany flying the C-21 aircraft and obtained Aircraft Commander certification. His next assignment was with the 6th Aerial Refueling Squadron, where he quickly certified as Aircraft Commander flying KC-10s and deployed several times supporting the defense of our great Nation. Brent’s military decorations and awards include the USAF Commendation medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Medal, and National Defense Medal.
Major Burklo is survived by his parents Jeff & Terri Burklo, brother Ryan and his wife Dyan Burklo, brother Jonathan and his wife Crystal Burklo, grandparents Clara Burklo, Vince & Brenda Vangi, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and friends across the world.
