Billy Terry

Billy Roy Terry, died the morning of April 18, 2014 at his home in Converse, Texas at the age of 76. Born in Dawson, Georgia on August 1, 1937. He was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church at an early age. In high school he was captain of the basketball Team, played tenor saxophone in the band, valedictorian and president of the senior class. He had a distinguished 30 year career in the Air force. While serving he earned his Bachelor degree from Inter American University, Magna Cum Laude. He also earned a Master's degree from Pepperdine University. He retired in 1986 at a rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was married to Annie Pearman in Shreveport, Louisiana on Sept. 24, 1960. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for his family and friends and his God given voice. He sang with the Blue Notes, The Randolph Chapel Choir from 1985 - 2010 and The Randolph Praise Team. He also preformed solos for weddings, nursing homes, funerals and other special occasions throughout the San Antonio area Preceded in death by parents John and Johnnie Terry; brother David L. Terry; sister Shirley J. Terry Bell; daughters Janet Terry and Janice Terry. He is survived by his wife Annie Laura Terry; Sons Anthony J. Terry (Kathryn A.) and Brion D. Terry (Delena D.); grandchildren Justin D. Kalmar, Kiarra G. Flores and Jordan A.Terry; Great-Grandchild Cayden J. Kalmar. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 9:00PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held conducted at 9:00AM on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to The American Cancer Society.
