Schertz

Beverly Diane Barrick was born to Morris and Mary Alice Wilson on July 28, 1942, in Newport, Arkansas. She has one sister Mary Nell Trent, her nieces Mary Elisabeth Trent and Maddy Solomon who resides in Watkinsville, GA. She attended Newport High School. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church and was active in the church playing piano.

Diane's mother Mary Alice had many talents painting and hand decorating eggs. She taught Diane who picked up this craft and started her in "The Egg Lady" business. The gift of an egg continues a centuries old custom of giving an ornamented egg for memorable occasions.

Diane attended Philips University in Enid, Oklahoma, with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in History on May 24, 1967. She met her husband Philip Barrick who was the Air Force Recruiter in Enid, Oklahoma. They enjoyed the Air Force and had great assignments. She taught school in Naples, Italy while they were stationed there. When they returned to Texas, she taught at Corbett Jr High and retired from teaching with twenty-four years in the field of education to open her business selling decorated eggshells. She was known locally as The Eggs Lady.

She will be missed by those whose lives she has touched.
