Betty Jean Waldrop

Betty Jean Childs Waldrop, of Schertz TX was born in Rome GA. She passed away December 25, 2024 at the age of 91 in San Antonio TX. She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Childs; her mother, Gaynelle Mason; her brother, Johny Childs; her husband, Reb; her daughter, Amy; and numerous beloved pets and grand-pets. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia of Schertz, and her son, Mark of Cibolo.

She was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and friend. She was our Mom, our buddy, our teacher, and the rock our family was built on. She led us halfway around the world, through good times and bad, keeping a cool head even through danger. She always welcomed us home, and to us, home was wherever she was. When it was time, she gently pushed us out of the nest and taught us to fly. She enjoyed a good adventure and she lived life to the fullest. She gave us the rules and showed us the way, and she held us accountable, too. She always sacrificed to make sure we had everything we needed. She loved us no matter what, and anyone that we loved was her child, too. She really cared about her four-legged babies and grand-babies. Through joy and sadness, good times and bad, her faith was unshakeable. Rest peacefully, Mom. We will love you forever.

Betty chose cremation, and according to her wishes, there will be no service.
