Betty Ellis

Betty Jean Ellis (Sorrell), 76, passed away on the morning of January 17, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Born June 21, 1940 to Ellis Ray and Johnnie Mae Sorrell and is preceded in death by her father Ellis Ray Sorrell and mother Johnnie Mae Sorrell. She is survived by her loving husband, two children, four grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. She grew up and attended school in London, Texas. Jean met the love of her life and married James R. Ellis on April 2, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. She worked in the Judson school district for more than 30 years. She gave selflessly to her family and friends throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and most of all--time with her loving family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 27, 2017, 12:00 PM (noon), at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charitable organization of your choice.
