Beryl Rocha
July 8, 1928 — January 28, 2014
Beryl M. Rocha, Universal City Texas, beloved wife, adored mother, and grandmother, born July 8, 1928, in Aylesham, England, joined our Heavenly Father on Tuesday January 28, 2014. Beryl left her cherished husband, David Rocha, after 60 years of blissful marriage and her family they so lovingly nurtured. Her Son, David W. Rocha, wife Carol A. Rocha; her Daughter Deborah A. Ables and husband James T. Ables; her beloved grandchildren Veronica L. Rocha, Alexandra A. McClain and husband Sean D. McClain, David M. Rocha and Leslie Anne E. Ables, all of Universal City, Texas. They shall always remember their precious Nana as an inspiration and model for the true meaning of family in this modern world. Beryl instilled core family values of faith and unconditional love as the foundation for an unbreakable family bond. This bond was embraced by all who met her. Beryl and David met and married in England in 1953. David's Air Force career took them both all over the world. Beryl was active in the NCO wives club, bowling leagues, softball and Silver Sneakers. She volunteered to read children's stories at Olympia Elementary School and was an avid gardener at home. Her hobbies included Canasta, Bingo, Knitting, Judson High School football games and Spurs Basketball. She was our number one cheerleader for the entire family, particularly her grandchildren's sports, arts, and academic activities and achievements. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 6:00PM - 8:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at 9:00AM, in the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Tom Dirks officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. With respect to Beryl's love for animals, we ask that in lieu of flowers that contributions be directed to the Universal City Doggie Park "In Memory of Beryl M. Rocha".
