Benito M. Barbosa was born on February 5, 1945, to Genovevo and Maria Del Refujio Barbosa in Piedras Negras Couhuila, Mexico. He died on January 22, 2018, at the age of 72, in his home in Cibolo, TX surrounded by his loving family. Benito loved his family with all his heart and soul and enjoyed being around them. He loved his wife of 52 years dearly. His four kids were his pride and joy as were his grandchildren. He would often say to his wife "I have some amazing kids", "I am truly blessed with our kids". He loved going fishing, working in the yard or working around in his work shed. He loved life and always lived life to the fullest. He was loved by all who knew him. He was very charismatic and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He lived the "American Dream" becoming an American Citizen was one of many accomplishments and he was so proud to vote. He was enjoying his retirement of 20+ years as a retired custodian from Eagle Pass Day Care Center in Eagle Pass, TX. Benito went on many cruises with his family that took them to the Bahamas, Haiti, Jamaica, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Cozumel, and Dominique of Republic to name a few places. He enjoyed the road trip vacations to the East Coast where he went to New York, Washington DC, Tennessee and Canada. Then on an another road trip was off to see the California coast lines, Hoover Dam, and lastly the strip in Las Vegas where we stayed in Trump's Hotel because he just wanted too.
He will be remembered as a loving father and husband. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosa Maria Barbosa, his children San Juana (Janie) Barbosa, Yolanda S. Barbosa, Benito Barbosa, Jr., Genovevo Barbosa and their respective spouses Jeannette and Griselda his grandchildren Marisol Barbosa, Diego Gomez, Benito Barbosa III, and Alejandro Barbosa as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Visitations will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 9am-12noon in the stateroom then 2pm-9pm in the Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm. Funeral service will be held at 9 :00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested a plant of some sort be brought so they can plant in his honor and memory.
