Barbara Kelly

Barbara J. Kelly, 69, Universal City, TX, passed away on January 20, 2023, after a courageous battle against Glioblastoma.
A Celebration of her Life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on February 18, 2023, at Universal City United Methodist Church, 90 Winn Ave., Universal City, TX 78148.
Barbara was born on January 24, 1953, to Robert and Betty Kelly in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a devoted Daughter, Aunt, Sister and Friend.
Barb’s friends and family would describe her as dependable, loyal, creative, hard-working, caring, optimistic, loving and thoughtful. Some would include bossy or controlling, but she’d just argue that she had better ideas than the rest of us!
Barb was passionate about her mission work in Africa, visiting schools and retirement homes with her therapy dogs, helping to establish the Universal City Animal Shelter building and organizing the first junior volunteer program, and contributing to her Dad’s favorite charity, St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
She loved exploring San Antonio and surrounding Texas towns, happy hours with friends, Wednesdays at Judys, traveling (taking cruises, going to Germany, New Mexico and Niagara Falls), spending time with family and of course... watching Hallmark movies.

Barb is preceded in death by some family, including her beloved father Bob and brother John, and her fur babies (dogs).
