Barbara Connally
April 3, 1953 — April 7, 2010
Barbara Ann Connally, age 57 of Schertz, passed away on April 7, 2010 in San Antonio. Barbara is survived by her husband, Lowell Wayne Connally; daughter, Jennifer "Jen" C. Harlan and son-in-law, Raymond "Ray" L. Harlan, Jr; her father, Bruce G. Ridgley, Sr; mother in law, Velma A. Connally; sisters, Carol Lynn Kleiber, Judith "Judie" McCombis, and Nancy Susan "Suzie" Malin; and her brother Wayne Earl Ridgley. Barbara was born and raised in San Antonio by Bruce and Peachy Jociele "Jody" Ridgley, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1971. Barbara and Wayne were married for 35 wonderful years and have a 31 year-old daughter, Jen. During his 26-year career in the U.S. Navy, she enjoyed being a Navy ombudsman, volunteering and working alongside the base Chaplains to help many others through the journey. Upon Wayne's retirement, they returned to make their home again in the San Antonio area. Throughout the years, she worked in mortgage and finance and enjoyed being a wedding coordinator and interior designer. Barbara had a passion for flowers and enjoyed gardening as a hobby as well. She took great pride in being an Aggie Mom and was a member of the Randolph Area Aggie Mom's Club. She was always willing to lend a hand or an ear to friends and family, and was considered the "cool Mom" by all of her daughter Jennifer's friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home followed by a Graveside service at 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Following the services, the family will receive friends at the Connally residence for an informal wake and visitation.
