Barbara Acosta

Barbara Gallagher Acosta, "Bobbie", passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 81 years of age. She was born on October 24, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Rev. James and Gladys Gallagher, who preceded her in death. Barbara is survived by her husband, LTC. Daniel J. Acosta; children Rebecca Acosta, Pamela and her husband David Risner, Julie and her husband Mark Chambers and grandchildren Daniel and David Risner, Joseph and Madeline Chambers, and her sister Betty and husband Richard O'Brien.

Daniel and Barbara were married on June 28, 1956 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Barbara passed away nine days prior to their 60th wedding anniversary. She will be remembered as a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a thoughtful Mimi and a wonderful Christian friend.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 12:30PM at Schertz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Honor of Barbara Acosta to International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, US Branch Office, PO Box 332974, Murfreesboro, TN 37133-2974.
