Tony Santana formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, born on September 3, 1923, went to be with his Heavenly Father on June 4, 2016, at the age of 92. Tony was born to Juan and Dorothea Santana on September 3, 1923, in Taft, Texas. He was the oldest of seven children. He lived in the Corpus Christi area most of his life. He attended school there and received his degree in Business from Del Mar College. He was proud to serve his Country in the US Army from December 1942 until January 1946. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the Infantry in Northern France and Central Europe. Tony married his beloved wife Jossie Mae Hyden on August 5, 1948. They would have been married 68 years. To that union, their son Tony Jr. was born in 1949 and precedes his father in death. Tony worked for the HEB Grocery Co. in Corpus Christi, Texas as a Dept. Manager and retired there after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Corpus Christi HEB Retiree Organization. He was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he longingly served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and in various other positions until he moved to San Antonio in 2014. Tony was a kind and gracious man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Jossie, of San Antonio; daughter in law, Karen Santana, of Cibolo, Texas; grandson, Robert Santana and wife Bobbie, of Live Oak, Texas; great grandsons, Ryan Santana and Taylor Nielson; sisters, May Ramirez and Alice Dwyer of Corpus Christi; sister in law, Lupe Santana of San Antonio, Ruth Hyden of Temple, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside Services were held at the Moffat Cemetery in Moffat, Texas. Memorials may be made in Tony's memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 2421 Gollihar, Corpus Christi, Texas, or to the American Heart Association.
