Anona Albrecht

September 28, 1922 — August 26, 2014

Anona Schumann Albrecht went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2014. She was born in Marion, TX on September 28, 1922. Anona was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Meta Schumann, brother and sister, Ervin and Sylvia Schumann, son-in-law Alvin Shodrok, granddaughter Jennifer Edler, and great grandson Jeremy Walleck. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Elgin Albrecht, sons Alfred (Jeanette), Charles (Kaye), Dennis (Vivian), Reginald (Patti), daughters Antonette Walleck (Tommy), Elizabeth Hajdik (Norman), Loretta Bolt (Don), Dorothy Jaksik (Raymond), and Christine Shodrok. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and other loving family members. Oma as she was lovingly called was a strong woman and even through her most trying times, never complained. She will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Dr. David Ochoa and Dr. Rohit Kapoor for the wonderful care they gave to her. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1:00pm followed by a funeral mass at 2:00pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX, with interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
