Ann Martin

Ann B. Martin passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27th in her home with her husband, Douglas, at her side. She was born on July 7, 1932, the daughter of Russell and Ruth Beaumont, both deceased, in Attleboro, MA. She was married to her husband, Douglas, for over 58 years and was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her brother, Russell; sister, Gail; husband, Douglas; children, Gary & wife, Sandra Martin, Diane Smith & husband, Michael; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ann was a people person and through the 26 years of her husbands Air Force career, she took great pleasure in finding new friends at each assignment and making their house or apartment a home for her family. She loved to read and maintained a constant interest in what was going on in the world. Her favorite past times early on were playing bridge, bowling and playing golf. She was an active member of the Hideaway Golf Club in Ft Myers, Florida and later at the North Cliffe Golf Club. She was an active member of the various Officer Wives Clubs at the Air Force bases where they were stationed. Her final years were spent in the North Cliffe/ Scenic Hills Community in Schertz. She continued to play bridge and was an active member and two times past president of the North Cliffe Ladies Golf Association until illness stopped her from participating. Ann was loved by her family and friends for her vitality, sincerity, warmth and compassion. It was an honor to know her and be her friend and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and whose lives she touched. Mass will be Celebrated at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St Judes Childrens Hospital.
