Angeline Scoggins

Angeline Scoggins was born in Hillsboro, Texas on April 20, 1931 to Robert and Ida Powell. Angeline passed away on August28, 2014. Angeline attended Dunbar High School in Lubbock Texas. In 1947 she married Marvin Wallace, Sr. To this union two children were born, Sandra and Marvin. In 1953 she married Edward Charles Evans (Ed). To this union two girls were born, Anita and Cheryl. In 1976 she married George Scoggins, Jr., no children were born from this union. In 1974 Angeline she moved to the Bay Area. She retired in 1992 from the University of California, Berkeley. After her retirement she moved to Illinois in 1994 and in 1996 she moved to San Antonio, TX where she stayed until she went home to be with the Lord. She was a devotion Christian who baptized by the late Bishop J.A. Blake in San Bernadino, CA. She was member of Missionary Church of God and Christ in Berkeley, CA under Elder Daniels. In San Antonio she was faithful member of Christ Temple Church of God in Christ under Elder China where she served as one of the church mothers. She is preceded in death by her husband George Scoggins, her parents (Robert and Ida) and six brothers (Robert (June), Julius, James, Paul, Norman, Charles) and three sisters (Robbie Mae, Verdie Mae, Esther Louise). She leaves behind to cherish her memories four children, Sandra Wallace Blaydow of Glendora, CA, Marvin Wallace of San Antonio, TX, Anita Phillips (Ronald) and Cheryl Le Gras (Bernard (B.J.) both of New Braunfels, TX, one sister Mamie Ruth Gibson of Los Angeles, CA; (8) grandchildren Sean and Rachel Hoodye, Derrick Wallace and Marquis Wallace, Marvin III and Leslie both of Denver, CO, Ronnie Phillips of San Antonio, TX, Jonathan Phillips of New Braunfels, TX and 7 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00PM - 9:00PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home at 9:00AM with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
