???Chief Master Sergeant, CMSgt Andrew Robert (Andy) Roca, USAF Retired, born on July 12, 1941, passed away on January 4, 2016, at the age of 74. As a Vietnam Veteran, he retired after 22 years of service in the Air Force, during which time he was an Instructor in the Crypto School at Lackland AF Base. While still in active duty, he obtained a degree in Math and Computer Science, which allowed him to cross train to become a Analyst/Programmer for The AF Personnel Center at Randolph AF Base.
He retired from the Air Force in 1984 and continued his work in the same capacity as a civilian until 2000. He was a natural born teacher and exercised those skills since 1962.
In 2001, he was joined by his service dog ...Jake. He participated in many activities in support of the disabled veterans including volunteering at the VA Hospital accompanied by Jake.
Andrew is preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and Andrew Sr.; and his beloved dog, Jake. He is survived by his wife, Olga; 3 children, Angela and her husband Dean, Andrew and his wife Martha, Anthony and his wife Michelle; 4 grandchildren, Payson, Riley, Tyler and Weston; 4 step-grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Sean and Zachary; brother, Robert. He, with his great sense of humor together with his service dog, sparked up everyone's life. Life will not be the same without him.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM, at Maggiano's Italian Restaurant-Ballroom at the RIM, 17603 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested any Memorial donations may be made to Andy's favorite charities: Service Dogs, Inc., 4925 Bell Springs Road, Dripping Springs, Tx, 78620 or to The Texas Chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
