Andrew Dalton

Andrew John Dalton, born on March 11, 1972, passed away on January 8, 2015, at the age of 42. Andrew graduated from Xavier High School in New York City, and earned his BA from State University of New York at Albany. He then earned his Juris Doctor Degree at University of Dayton School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. He then went on to graduate from George Washington University Law School where he earned his Master's in Law and graduated with Highest Honors. Andrew worked as a Senior Advisory Counsel for Valero Energy, where he focused on expanding infrastructure. His work there in long term planning goals for new oil and natural gas pipelines and electric market design helped build the foundation which led him to enter the political arena as well. Andrew began as a city councilman in 2011 while also serving on the board for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) as an active leader since 2005. All of these achievements helped lead him to serve as Mayor of Garden Ridge, beginning in 2013. Andrew had a passion for politics, vigorous debate, game hunting, and above all else, his family. His grandparents, Andrew and Helen Dalton, and Vincent and Catherine Callagy preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Jennifer Wilke Dalton of Garden Ridge, TX; daughters, Delany, Taylor, and Alexis; parents, Andrew and Anne Dalton of Brooklyn, NY; and sister, Lauren Dalton of Jersey City, NJ.; father-in-law, William Wilke; mother-in-law, Carol Dee Wilke; brother and sister-in-laws, John and Casi Wilke, Jay and Jan Wilke, and Justin and Cristy Wilke; nieces and nephews Laurel, Megan, Colby, Paige, Kyla, Randall, Rylie and Rebecka Wilke. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 4:00PM-7:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 10:00AM, at the Garden Ridge Community Center, 9400 Municipal Parkway, Garden Ridge, TX 78266. Interment will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, TX. After the Committal Service at the cemetery, the family has invited everyone to a celebration of Andrew's life at The Connection Center at Bracken United Methodist Church, 20377 FM 2252, Garden Ridge, TX 78266. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Andrew's name to M.D Anderson Adult Sarcoma Cancer Research (www.mdanderson.org/how-you-can-help/adult-sarcoma-research.html) The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O.
