In Loving Memory of Andrea “Andi” Kay Barrows Age 65, of Cibolo, TX August 24, 2024, in San Antonio, TX

With profound sadness and joyful remembrance, we celebrate the life of Andrea “Andi” Kay Barrows, who was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on August 24, 2024. Born in Houston, TX, on November 1, 1958, Andi radiated warmth and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. A proud graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, she carried a spirit of enthusiasm and dedication into her professional journey, which included noteworthy positions at Century 21, Waste Management, and over 25 years at North Star Mall, where her leadership and compassion shone brightly.

Andi is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Guy Barrows, with whom she cherished 46 years of marriage. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Brad (Michelle), Jared (Rachael), and Cody (Lizzie), along with her precious grandchildren: Aaron (Rachel), Trinity, Kenneth, Caleb, Andrew, Declan, Lawson, and Scarlett, and her great granddaughter, Lilliana. She is also survived by her cherished sisters, Cindy Starks and Jennifer Spofford (Jarrett), brother-in-law Glyn, and her adored Andrea “Auntie” Driscoll, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Andi rejoices in the company of her parents, Dave and Sharon Starks, her in-laws Hubert and Helen Barrows, and her beloved grandparents whom she has now reunited with in eternal peace.

A life devoted to love, service, and legacy, Andi dedicated over 40 years to teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, nurturing countless children and adults in their faith and guiding them in the light of the Scriptures. Her commitment to the Boy Scouts as a Den Leader, CubMaster, Committee Chairman, training chairman, and the first female WoodBadge Course Director in the greater Alamo Area Council exemplifies her spirit of leadership and community involvement.

Andi had a passion for sewing, quilting, and crafts, bringing joy and creativity into every project. She danced through life to the melodies of Donnie, Elvis, and the vibrant rhythms of the '50s and '60s. Her love for Zumba classes and small group Bible studies was a testament to her zest for life and fellowship. Purple was her favorite color, and the sight of a yellow rose would light up her face with a beautiful smile. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasures, and she poured her heart into every road trip, packing memories as well as suitcases. Filled with the Lord’s love, she served with joy during Walks to Emmaus and created delicious feasts for her family, where her signature pink stuff was always a highlight. And in the hearts of many, she will forever be remembered as Mrs. Claus, bringing holiday cheer and magic every Christmas season.

Join us as we honor Andi’s extraordinary life during her Celebration of Life at Northern Hills United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 31st, at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to the Children Discipleship Fund through Northern Hills United Methodist Church, ensuring her legacy of love continues to flourish.
