Ancel Mangram White Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ancel “Sonny” White, who left this world peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on May 4, 1933, in Stockdale, Texas, Sonny was the beloved son of Ancel and Loretta White.

Sonny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always enjoyed hunting with his nephews in South Texas. He was married to his wife, Mary White, for 53 years and they enjoyed dancing, traveling and making memories with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sonny had a successful construction business. He had a gift for architecture and building beautiful custom homes. He was blessed to have had a career he enjoyed.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Ancel and Loretta White; sisters, Dean Roberts and Gail Buck; his son, Mark White and his step-daughter, Vicki Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary White; sister, Winnie Hurt; son, Michael White(Boardman, Ohio); step-daughter, Bonnie Snowden (Charles); grandchildren, Chris White, Brandon White, Bradd Brooks, Nikkole Brooks (Jason), William Thornell (Jessica) and Deidre Haby (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Erzsebet Brooks, Lorelei White, Luna Brooks, Alex White, Ashlyn Haby, Caleb Haby and Colin Dove; and many nieces and nephews.

We lift him to you today, in honour of the good we saw in him and the love we felt from him. Please give us the strength to leave him in your care, in the knowledge of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
