Alfred Shelton

Alfred N. (Norm) Shelton SMSgt USAF Retired passed away and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ June 29, 2012. He was born at the Nix Hospital, San Antonio, Texas, June 1, 1934. He is a 1951 graduate of Edison High School. He joined the USAF June 3, 1954 and served over 26 years with the USAF. He retired with 15 ½ years of Civil Service with USAF Recruiting Services. Many years of his life were devoted to family and church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Ellen K. (McDonald) Shelton, sons Lane Shelton, wife Marcia, Jeff Shelton, wife Sandra, daughter Lisa Shelton Francis, husband Billy, grandchildren Jennifer Shelton Biela, husband Shaun, Dianna Shelton Heiner, husband Dayle , Matthew and Philip Shelton, Ronald (Rowdy), Evan, and Emma Francis, great grand children Alyssa and Zane Biela, brother Allen Shelton, wife Betty Jean and their daughters Lori McCormick and family and Nancy Miller and family, brother-in-law Douglas McDonald, wife Nuelene. He will always be loved and truly missed and we are comforted in the knowledge that through his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, he is with his heavenly Father. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 3 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, July 5 beginning at 11:30 at Schertz Funeral Home on FM 3009 lead by Pastor Gene Tone. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston at 2:00 p.m. following the service. Please join the family for a reception following the interment at Cibolo Valley Baptist Church, 5500 FM 1103 from 3:30-5:30. In lieu of flowers please donate to The Gideons International.
