Alex Kobiec, 91, passed away at 1:15 PM on Friday March 7, 2025 at Brook Army Medical Center after an illness.

Alex led an outstanding military career that started in 1954 and ended in 1974. He received numerous awards and metals during his service, flying KC 135 and C-140’s, before retiring at rank of Lt, Col. Alex was a member of VFW American Legion, MOA, and the Daedalians (Stinson's Flight 2).

Alex was preceded in death by his son Phillip Kobiec.

Alex was the last of 13 children. He married his wife, Virginia (Czajkowski) Kobiec on Jul 21, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana. They had 4 children, Anthony (Tony) Kobiec, 67, Phillip Kobiec, 13 months old, Bonita Bingham, 63, husband David – Annette Townsend, 62, and husband David. Alex and Virginia are grandparents to one granddaughter, Kristin Egierski who has two children, Olivia Fisker and Ava Fletcher. Alex has numerous nephews and nieces through family and marriage.

A visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on March 26th with th Rosary to begin at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be on March 27th at Good Shepherd Church, on Live Oak Rd. at 11 AM. A reception will follow the mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St.Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
