Born on March 29, 2006, and a cherished resident of Schertz, Texas, Alek Ried Johnson was a beacon of joy and kindness in the lives of those who knew him. He was the beloved son of Cherie Johnson and Evan Johnson, and a devoted brother to Landon and Parker Johnson. Alek's warm heart and infectious smile and laughter will be dearly missed by all.
Alek was a joyful, kind, loving, studious, and gentle young man. He was known for his deliberate and selfless nature, always striving to ensure the happiness of those around him. His kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
Alek's love for football was unparalleled. As a dedicated defensive back for the Samuel Clemens High School team, he spent countless hours in the gym and on the field, pushing himself to be the best. His passion for the sport and his unwavering commitment to his team's success were truly inspiring.
Beyond the football field, Alek had a deep love for his first car, a Ford Mustang. He meticulously planned upgrades and captured countless photos of his beloved vehicle. Alek also harbored dreams of a future career in law enforcement, a goal he had cherished since he was five years old. His ambition and dedication were evident in every aspect of his life.
Alek was a remarkable teenager, son, grandson, and cousin who constantly wished for a better world. His kind heart and positive impact on those around him will forever remain in our hearts. His spirit and the fond memories he created will be cherished by all his family and friends.
Alek is survived by his parents, Cherie (Gayle) Johnson and Evan Johnson (Tina); his brothers Landon and Parker Johnson; his maternal grandparents, Robert “Popo” and Janice “Nonnie” Gayle; his paternal grandparents, Lynn “Donno” Kramer (Tony) and Clifton Johnson (Yvonne); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and his beloved pet bird, Chicken Nugget, and dog, Brownie.
Funeral services will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM.

Alek's light may have dimmed far too soon, but his legacy of kindness, joy, and love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
