Agnes Dixon

October 24, 1920 — November 13, 2013

Agnes Elizabeth "Dixie" Maher Dixon, born on October 24, 1920, passed away on November 13, 2013, at the age of 93. Upon retiring from the New York Telephone Company, Agnes moved to California, and then to Texas, to be close to her family. Agnes was active in her community and received numerous awards for her service. She loved to travel, especially taking trips to Las Vegas and Reno, and was an avid bowler. Agnes will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her beloved husband, Thomas F. Dixon, preceded her in death. Agnes was a loving mother to James Michael Dixon, and his wife, Sue; dear grandmother to Mickie, Lance, Tommy, Lisa, Chris, and Lauren; cherished great-grandmother to Sierra, Savannah, Lance, James, and Matthew; loving sister to James Maher. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 9:00AM, at St. Peter's Church, 53 St. Mark's Place in New Brighton, Staten Island, NY 10301. Agnes' cremated remains will then be interred with her late husband at Moravian Cemetery in Staten Island, NY. A memorial gathering will follow the interment.
