Ada "Ann" Almond of Cibolo, TX, born April 5, 1943, passed away on June 30, 2015, at the age of 72. Ann was active in the Schertz 4th of July Jubilee, worked on the Schertz float and helped get them in parades throughout South Texas. She also worked on the organization of the Schertz parade for a number of years before her stroke left her paralyzed in 2003. Ann loved to sew and do ceramics. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Almond who died October 14, 2015; parents, Francis and Mildred Reed of El Reno Oklahoma; one brother, David Reed; sisters, Norma Lee, Barbara Yarmon. Ann is survived by her brother, Winston Reed of Denver; children, Amy Almond-Laechelin of Belize, Frances Gaddy of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Travis Laechelin of Wimberly, TX, Marshall Laechelin, of Madison, Wisconsin. The visitation will be held on July 7, 2015 at the Schertz Funeral Home at 9:00AM followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment is to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her husband of 53 years.
